My interest in Hugo continues to grow. It is an amazing and FAST site generator, and I have yet to find any strong limitations it has supporting my efforts to automate and streamline static content generation.
I've mostly used Hugo in AWS Codebuild, thus my code for codebuild-hugo. But recently, AWS increased Lambda execution times by multiples of the original limit, and the filesystem size limit on Lambda is sizable enough to handle reasonable site sizes. And to boot, with
0.62 release of Hugo, they have somehow made it even faster than before (as much as 15% fasater).
So as long as your site source (and built output) remains under 500MB, you can use a Lambda for your Hugo deployments. Thus, this layer.
